Cricket Force 2019

NatWest CricketForce is a nationwide initiative aimed at cricket clubs. The programme is designed to bring clubs and local communities closer together, and ensure grounds and facilities are ready for the new season. With 2019 being the biggest summer of Cricket in England and Wales NatWest CricketForce we need your help!

Jobs will need doing around the ground, painting, grass cutting, strimming, planting new plants and tidying up.

Children, moms, dads you can all help and get stuck in.

We want to make our new ground a welcoming environment for families as we can.

Meeting at 9am at our new Four Oaks Ground on Saturday 6th April.  See you there!

New Ground – Aerial Photos

The photo above was taken by our resident pilot in July 2018, for the next 6 weeks we had no rain yet the outfield was seeded.  Luckily the cricket square was laid in September 2017 and had plenty of time to establish.

What a different two months makes!  Lush outfield with a recently cut square.  The triangle lighter grass was caused from the water running off the square.  We are now in mid October and both the square and outfield are being cut weekly.

Four Oaks – Shropshire’s Newest Sports Ground

October 2018

The contractors have been back on site this week.  Work has taken place to:

Scarify, top dress and fertilise the wicket

Cut and spray outfield

The ECB consultants have advised us that they are very happy with root growth and very pleased with all the work that has been completed so far.

We are now busy working on the next phase which is the Pavilion, further details will be available shortly…
