Alveley’s Ellie Anderson has been selected to play for England in South Africa, what an achievement !👏👏👏 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Ellie joined Alveley aged 8, having played for our junior teams she was then put forward by the club for trials at Worcestershire County Cricket Club. Ellie continues to play for Alveley 1st team and our midweek side.  Having successfully been selected for Worcester Ellie played for their age group sides before progressing into Worcester Rapids womens team, she also plays for Central Sparks Academy.

During 2022 the club has seen an influx in junior members with our All Stars and Dynamos seeing a huge increase in new members. Next year the club will continue to work closely with Shropshire Cricket Board and Alveley Primary School as well as offering junior coaching on Friday nights starting in April.  Coaching is available for all children from the age of 5 and over.

Two weeks ago Ellie won Worcesters young player of the season, and it doesn’t stop there. It’s the first time the best U19 cricketers have come together from the women’s game to compete in an ICC Global Event.  Good luck Ellie from everyone at Alveley Cricket Club.

The tournament sees 16 countries competing from January 14 to January 29.

We can’t wait to see Ellie play for England, we will be keeping track of her progress throughout the tournament.
