Womens Cricket

A great way to get fit, meet new friends and have lots of FUN! Starting on Tuesday 21st April running to 7th July 6.30pm

Cricket first became a sport available to women and girls in Alveley in 2017, thanks to the highly-successful launch of the Prosecco Cricket initiative. Brought to Alveley through the Shropshire and Worcestershire Cricket Boards and its dedicated coaches. The weekly sessions were a one-hour mixture of fun, fitness and cricket-related exercises.

We now run both soft and hard ball practices for ladies. NO experience required and a glass of Prosecco after each training session (Or soft drink).

The 2018 season took Women’s Cricket in Alveley to a whole new level!

Starting with training during the winter at Oldbury Wells School in Bridgnorth, the team entered the Worcestershire hard-ball League for the first time!

Looking professional in their brilliant new kit (pictured below), sponsored by Peak & Piste, the ladies faced teams from all over the County.

The summer was filled with more friendlies than ever before, as well as several Softball Tournaments of which Alveley was chosen to host one!

The ladies enjoy lots of social events, you would be more than welcome to join them.

Last, but not least, the Women’s team has also provided the Men’s team with players in times of need – with several of the squad stepping up to show the boys how it’s done!

All new players will be very welcome. To find out more, just email Charlotte on moorcroft587@aol.com
